A superb 5-record collector’s lot tracing the roots of early jazz, rhythmic stride, and boogie-woogie piano from 1918 through to the 1950s.

This selection spans decades of jazz evolution, starting with one of the absolute earliest commercial jazz recordings, sweeping through 1920s hot trombone, and landing on driving 1940s piano boogie. A fantastic instant collection or stock injection for a vintage boutique.

The Records Included:

Wilbur Sweatman’s Original Jazz Band – Ev'rybody's Crazy 'Bout the Doggone Blues, But I'm Happy / Regretful Blues (Columbia Record 2908, UK Pressing). Recorded in New York, March 1918. An absolute pioneer acoustic-era jazz artifact! Features an incredibly cool, historic original Auckland retail sticker from "Wade & Coy, The Record and Gramophone House."

Albert Ammons (Vocal: Mercury) – Why I'm Leavin' You / Doin' The Boogie Woogie (Esquire/Mercury A-1064, Australian Pressing). Heavy-driving 1946 Chicago boogie-woogie piano. Highly sought after by rhythm & blues collectors.

Miff Mole’s Molers / Boyd Senter – The Darktown Strutters' Ball / Mobile Blues (Parlophone A 2188, Red Label Australian Pressing). Legendary 1920s hot jazz.

Jimmy Noone’s New Orleans Band – Way Down Yonder In New Orleans / Sweet Georgia Brown (Parlophone R 2281, Purple Label UK Pressing). Historic 1936 New Orleans revival session.

Nick Lucas – Kind and Considerate / Soldier's Guitar (Ac'cent Records AC 1030, Hollywood CA Independent Label). A lovely 1955 mid-century crooner/guitar throwback.

Condition & Shipping:

Shellac is visually graded in very good vintage condition with minor surface scuffs consistent with age (the Sweatman record shows some center spindle wear, but the grooves remain clear).

Shipped with extreme care: Securely sandwiched between stiff cardboard, heavily bubble-wrapped, and boxed to ensure these fragile shellac treasures arrive safely at your door.
